Quick Buns

These buns we also call "Turbo-boller" or Turbo Buns, because they are quick to make. I usually bake them at the same time I bake cracker bread, since the oven plate is still nice and warm after I took the cracker bread out, which means the buns are bigger than if you'd place them on a cold plate.

It takes about 40-45 minutes from the start until you have freshly baked buns.

  • 110 gr margarine/butter (I use about 80-90 gr margarine/butter)
  • 300 ml milk
  • 50 gr yeast
  • ½ tbsp salt
  • 1½ tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 550 gr Flour (You can easily mix in some 100% rye flour or corn mixes)

  • Heat oven at 200 degrees C (hot air)
  • Heat milk and dissolve the yeast in it. Melt the margarine in a microwave oven and mix into the milk/yeast mixture.
  • Add salt, sugar and egg and mix it together with a mixer.
  • Now add flour little by little, until the dough almost is not sticky anymore. (All of the flour does not need to be used.)
  • Roll 18 balls and place on a baking tray and let is rise for 15 minutes.
  • Bake for 12 minutes in the middle of the oven.
These buns are really nice and fluffy and the kids love them.
