Midnight thoughts

It is way past my bed time, but I am reluctant to go to bed. Why? Well, I don't know. Maybe it was because I needed to jot down some of my thoughts. Or it was the last coffee...

Sitting in the dark living room, with only a little bit of light coming from my semi-Christmas tree in the corner, I am listening to the kids snoring. Yes, they sleep in the living room on weekends and they enjoy it. I also enjoy listening to their breathing and snoring ;o) Most of all, it is nice to just listen to them sleeping.

We had a good day today/yesterday. We slept nice and late - they woke me up at 9:22 am with Adrian-Emil coming into my room, jumping on my bed and shouting: "Come on Mommy, you should get out of bed, you've slept way too late!" The sun was shining brightly outside and I thought to myself that it would be a wonderful day for a picnic! Sipping coffee in the living room, while checking my "oh so important" Facebook account and other dating sites, the phone rang all of a sudden! Not what I expected, since it hardly ever rings and I hardly ever phone people... to be honest, and most of you won't believe me - I don't like speaking on the phone. It has to be very important things that needs to be organized or it would be my mom or sisters in South Africa I'd phone.

So needless to say, I was a bit startled. Don't laugh, I still needed to wake up properly! It was a nice surprise though. My friend Jeanine wanted to know if the kids and I would like to go on a picnic with them and if we'd be ready in 15 minutes... Anybody that knows me well, would tell you that I need more than 15 min to get ready ;o) I tried to bargain my way to 45 minutes, but she won and got 30 min ;o) I rushed to get clothes for the kids, and get myself ready... No shower, sorry LOL... No foundation, just mascara and lip gloss and I am ready! This is why I love my hair - I quickly sprayed Salt water spray in my hair, dragged my fingers through it, a quick tease with the comb and then the Ozone killer - hairspray! Tada! I am ready!

We were ready within 20 minutes and she phoned to say they'd be here in about 15 minutes ... how did that add up? Never mind! I finally got to meet beautiful Linus and see Daniel again. Of course it was nice to see Trixie and Sven again too ;o) It took us a while to leave the parking grounds though, but when we got to http://www.hangaards-have.dk/ we were ready to get something to eat. The gardens were beautiful, the grass wet from the rain that came back and the rest of the visitors were about the age of ... well, a couple of years older than we were ;o)

The lunch was nice, the kids were hungry and happy to get something to eat. The cats did not get anything to eat from us! No, not at all... and then the rain came down! We were finished eating according to the weather man. That meant that we could go explore the gardens and the maze. I loved the roses! The kids loved the maze and I can't remember when last I played hide and seek, giggling and running around trying to not get caught by Sven, while Trixie did what Trixie does best - feeding Linus. It was a great day and my children loved it too.

My life is really good! I had a rough couple of weeks behind me and I still feel that sometimes you have to make decisions that break your heart, but you make them to keep your heart from breaking even more. In the end, I know that I have some fantastic people in my life. But I will get back to that another time.

I hope that my friends would like to follow this blog and find some inspiration in life together with me through my ramblings and sometimes random thoughts.

Love you all! Goodnight!
