A girly party

Today we had 8 of the 11 girls from my daughter's class over for her birthday party. It went much better than I expected. I have to admit, that I was nervous about the whole thing *blush* It was the first time we held something for the girls in her class. Since she got her Princess book for her third birthday, she wanted me to make Jasmin's Fruit Palace and Snow White's mini cakes, so that is what she got this time.

We started with whole wheat buns, chicken nuggets, cucumber and carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes and sour cream as a dip and the girls tucked in, but when we brought out the Fruit Palace, they were in awe. They certainly enjoyed the fruits. This is what it looked like:

After doing their nails and playing with lipstick, it was time to decorate their own mini cakes. It was fun to watch the different types of cakes that they created. Some really went all out to make something creative, others just wanted whipped cream and sprinkles and some had everything on their cakes!

See mom, silver sprinkles!

It was fun, but I am glad that there is at least a year to go, before I have to do this again ;o)
